Animals Love Reiki!

Reiki can be used with animals as well as humans. During my Reiki Level 1 training I was very excited to learn this. I love animals. I grew up having a rabbit, a guinea pig, a turtle, dogs and even a snake. And it wasn't until college when I got my first cat.

I have a Bengal cat. His name is Nalu. Many of you have experienced having a reiki session with him resting by your root chakra. He's very relaxed when I am sending reiki to a client and he also adds to the reiki therapy energy.

Animals love Reiki. This gentle hands-on therapy balances their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of the animal that when unbalanced manifests in illness.

The soothing energy of Reiki promotes relaxation  for animals with stress, fear, anxiety, aggression, depression and other behaviorally based issue such as abuse. Reiki provides comfort and relieves pain, anxiety and fear for animals in hospice to help them transition peacefully

When I work with animals, I approach them with sensitivity and respect. I pay attention to the animal's body language and behavior to ensure that they are comfortable and receptive to the Reiki.

Some animals may be more responsive to Reiki than others. For example, cats and dogs may be more receptive to hands-on Reiki, while horses may prefer distance Reiki. Although, the horses I've worked with enjoyed the hands-on experience.

I let the animal guide the session. An animal will also let me know when to move my hands and when to end the session. I place my hands on or near the animal's body in a series of hand positions. When I do a distant, or, remote session, I will use Zoom for the session and use visualization techniques to direct healing energy to specific areas of the animal's body.

The best part of Reiki is, it increases the trust and bonding between you and your pet. Another benefit is that it accelerates the healing process following an injury, surgery or illness. It also alleviates and prevents side effects of conventional medicine and cancer treatments.

It's important to note that Reiki is not a substitute for veterinary care. If your animal is experiencing health issues, it's important to consult with a veterinarian to ensure that they receive appropriate medical treatment. Reiki can be used in conjunction with veterinary care to support the animal's overall wellbeing.
